THE MALVERN Hills Conservators has issued out another warning to residents following reports of metal detecting on its land.
The group announced on its website on Monday they had received several reports of an individual digging up turf and causing damge to land on Link Common next to Worcester Road.
The body is keen to stress metal detecting on its grounds is illegal under the Conservator’s byelaws without granted permission.
If convicted those involved could face a hefty fine.
The Observer reported in October last year that reports of metal detecting on the Malvern Hills had been made.
And in September 2014 up to 50 small holes were dug along the ridgeline of the central hills between Perseverance Hill and Black Hill.
The Hills and surrounding Commons are protected for their nationally important habitats, archaeology and geology.
