Free mental health courses launching in Malvern

Malvern Editorial 12th Aug, 2016 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

FREE mental health courses are being launched in Malvern to help residents cope with stress and worry.

Worcestershire Healthy Minds’ ‘MoodMaster’ programme is being run at Malvern Cube each Tuesday from 2pm to 3pm, to provide a range of simple tools and techniques to help attendees cope better with everyday stresses and worries, as well as improving their overall quality of life.

Sessions will focus on different topics including sleep, worry, relaxation, dealing with stress, problem solving and friendships.

The Wellbeing Hub, run in partnership with Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust and Community First, is also able to provide information and advice for people who are struggling with low level mental health issues.

Julie Evans, clinical leader with Worcestershire Healthy Minds said: “The sessions are based around cognitive behavioural therapy and are for people aged 16 and over.

“The groups are small and led by a specially trained leader, who will make sure everyone has time to reflect and is able to uncover a happier and healthier approach to life.

“People are able to attend up to 12 weekly sessions for free and they don’t need a referral from a GP.”

The Wellbeing Hub is open from 9am to 5pm every Monday to Friday.

Call the hub on 01905 766124 or e-mail [email protected] to book a place on one of the sessions or for more information.
