MALVERN Town maintained their impressive start to the 2016/17 West Midlands (Regional) Premier Division after they thrashing AFC Bridgnorth 5-1 on Saturday.
The Hillsiders kept up their unbeaten start to the campaign after a hat-trick from Dave Reynolds and goals from skipper Reece King and Nathan Hughes made it a delightful afternoon for the away side despite the heavy rain.
Malvern were 4-1 up inside the first 20 minutes as they hit the ground running quickly in response to their 1-1 draw to Bewdley Town last Wednesday.
The win lifted Malvern to fourth place with four wins out of the opening five games – and are now five points behind leaders Wolverhampton Sporting with a game in hand.
Les Jones’ side return to action on Tuesday night (August 30) when they face second-placed Wellington.
