A COMMUNITY choir launched six years ago is on the hunt for new members.
Powick Community Choir has established an enviable reputation and now attracts a large membership from Malvern and Worcester, regularly performing with a professional chamber orchestra.
But there are still places available for more people to come and join this thriving group’s ranks.
Musical director Tom Wells said: “It is perhaps its wide ranging repertoire, plus its size, that sets it about part from many other choirs in the county.
“Surely, there are few choirs which can boast performing Mozart, Handel and Bon Jovi in the same show.”
The choir is currently preparing for a series of Christmas concerts in the majestic Great Hall of Stanbrook Abbey.
“We are keen to recruit a few more altos, tenors and basses.
“Previous experience of choral work would be desirable, although not necessarily essential,” added Tom.
The choir is also now inviting young people between 11 and 16 to join its new Young People’s Choir.
