MARIE Curie is appealing for people in Malvern to ‘get behind the daffodil’, by volunteering to collect donations for the charity’s annual Great Daffodil Appeal next February and March.
The charity is looking for volunteers to help with the distribution and return of its Collection Tins and Daffodil Boxes to shops, restaurants and other venues within the local community.
The role involves approaching sites that are warm to place collection tins and boxes and counting and banking the money that is raised.
Every March, millions of people across the UK show their support simply by giving a donation to wear a daffodil pin. The appeal began 30 years ago in 1986.
Money raised from the tins and daffodil boxes will help Marie Curie Nurses provide care and support to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones at home within Malvern.
Those interested will be given relevant training and the charity can link you to existing volunteers in the area.
