Morgan Motor Company link up with former Made in Chelsea star - to make new sunglasses

MALVERN’s Morgan Motor Company is known to have made thousands, if not millions, of cars during their 100-year existence – but now sunglasses have been added to the list.

The Pickersleigh Road firm has announced it has designed the first official Morgan sunglasses which are available to buy.

Morgan bosses have developed a new partnership with fellow British brand Taylor Morris Eyewear to help create the new fashion accessory.

Taylor Morris Eyewear was set up in 2013 by best friends Hugo Taylor and Charlie Morris – the former once a star of E4 reality show Made in Chelsea.

And just like Morgan cars, the sunglasses are of unusual shape evoking the style of traditional 1930s racing goggles.

Named after Henry Morgan, who founded the Morgan Motor Company back in 1909, the unisex sunglasses are available in multiple colours.

The three frames are differentiated by the varying acetates used, inspired by the 3 most popular wood finishes, as well as the lenses inspired by the three most popular paint finishes.

Other distinctive features are the brow bar, which is covered in leather inspired by Morgan interiors, and the Carl Zeiss CR39 polarized lenses.

A statement from Morgan’s website says: “As part of a growing range of lifestyle accessories, all designed to enhance that driving pleasure, Morgan desired to create a unique pair of sunglasses.

“It was clear, they needed to reflect the cars in their design and stand out whilst remaining stylish, clear qualities of the company itself.”
