Malvern Editorial 27th Dec, 2016   0

A NUMBER of sheep were killed after they were hit by a van on a rural road near Malvern.

The incident happened on Thursday (December 22) just before 5pm on the B4208 road at Coombe Green common.

Police attended the scene which meant the road was partially blocked for more than an hour.

The Observer understands that six sheep were killed including one which had to be ‘humanely destroyed’ because of the injuries sustained.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: “We were called at 4.55pm on Thursday to reports that a Vauxhaull Movano van, carrying a trailer, had collided with a number of sheep on the B4208 at Coombe Green. The animals were recovered by the farmer and one sadly had to be humanely destroyed due to its injuries.

“The road was partially blocked but was clear again as of 6.10pm.”

No arrests have been believed to have happened.
