THE MET Office has issued a yellow warning for snow for Worcestershire which could fall on Thursday.
According to the BBC Weather forecast, snow or sleet could start falling in Malvern and Upton from around 3pm right through to the early evening.
The warning states: There is a chance of snow settling with disruption to road, rail and air services as well as interruptions to power supplies and other utilities – this more likely across East Anglia and southeast England.
“Associated heavy rain and strong winds may prove additional hazards. As skies clear on Thursday night there is also potential for widespread ice to form quite rapidly on untreated surfaces. This is an update to slightly increase the risk of disruption from snow, as well as to introduce ice as a hazard.”
Police have also issued out a warning to motorists today (Wednesday).
A post from West Mercia Police’s Facebook page, said: “With snow forecast over the coming days, the best advice when severe weather hits is to stay off the road.
“If people do choose to drive, however, they are advised to ensure they are prepared for the conditions.
“When temperatures plummet – potentially resulting in heavy frost and icy patches on roads – ice, fog, tiredness, lack of concentration and unusual journey patterns are all factors that can possibly lead to a collision.”
