'Redundant' village pub could be converted into new home

A REDUNDANT pub in Kempsey is set to be converted into a brand new home.

The building which was the home of The Inn at Stonehall could be set for a new lease of life after plans were submitted to Malvern Hills District Council transform it into a house.

The former pub, which was last known to be open as a wedding venue, has been closed since 2012 following financial difficulties.

According to the application form, the applicant’s name is Mr Clive Parker.

A planning statement from EJ Planning, representing Mr Parker, says: “The building is structurally sound and its conversion can be achieved without any major structural work or any major rebuilding.

“As detailed on the accompanying plans very little changes would be required to the external fabric of the building. The existing openings would be utilised with only minor changes to windows and doors in the southern elevation.

“There would be only minor changes to the internal layout in order to facilitate the use of the building as a single dwellinghouse. The original character and form of the building would not be altered.”
