Malvern Editorial 17th Mar, 2017   0

WORCESTERSHIRE Health and Care Trust will field two leading senior staff at the public question time debate and discussion on Mental Health Matters in Malvern next weekend.

Elaine Dolby, adult mental health community lead and Karen Ingram, clinical lead, will be partaking in the event which starts at 7.45pm in Landsdowne Crescent Methodist Church on Saturday, March 25.

Other local members on the platform will include Alison Gray, a consultant psychiatrist in Hereford and associate priest at Great Malvern Priory, and Coun John Raine, chairman of Malvern Hills District Council.

In addition there will be two national mental health charities represented – Stephen Heath, an in-house lawyer for MIND and a senior person from the Alzheimer’s Society.

Debate organiser Barry Jones said: “Mental health illnesses can happen to anyone, male or female, young people at work and older citizens.

“Anxiety, depression and dementia may well represent the number one health problem in Worcestershire.

“What are the causes? What makes for good mental health? In Worcestershire are mental health services suitable and are they underfunded?”

Tickets for the debate are available from www.eventbrite.co.uk.
