Fund-raisers take the plunge to help Malvern Special Families

Malvern Editorial 11th May, 2017   0

THOUSANDS of pounds have been raised for a Malvern charity which provides clubs and play schemes for disabled children and young people following an adventurous sponsored sky dive.

A team of seven daredevil fund-raisers from Malvern Special Families (MSF) took to the challenge on Sunday (May 7) at Hinton Airfield, Northamptonshire, where they dived 13,000 to raise awareness and funds for the charity.

The teams sponsorship has already reached more than £2,000 and Evesham-based Basepoint Business Centre has kindly matched the funding to take the total above £4,000.

It is hoped with last minute sponsorship coming in the total will surpass £5,000.

Lorraine Quinney, one of the sky divers and a play worker for MSF, said: “I would never have dreamt of doing a sky dive just for fun, but I was willing to push myself and literally throw caution to the wind for MSF as it’s such a good cause.

“The sky dive was a really amazing and surreal experience and it feels good to do something worthwhile to fund-raise for MSF and highlight what amazing work the charity does caring for disabled children and enabling them to enjoy wonderful trips out.”
