Not long left to nominate Malvern's sporting heroes

Malvern Editorial 12th May, 2017   0

TIME is running out to nominate sporting heroes for this year’s Malvern Hills District Community Sports Awards.

A host of dignitaries will gather at The Bank House Hotel on Thursday, July 13 for an evening of celebration as the district comes together to recognise the hard work and dedication of coaches, clubs, volunteers, players and athletes.

There are 13 awards up for grabs including two new categories for 2017– Sports School of the Year and Positive Change of the Year, which recognises those who have transformed their lives through participation in sport or physical activity.

The top two shortlisted nominees for each award will be invited to attend the awards ceremony, hosted by the district council and headline sponsored by Freedom Leisure.

BBC Hereford and Worcester presenter Andrew Easton will once again be in charge of proceedings on the night.

Amanda Smith, community services Manager at Malvern Hill District Council, said: “If you know an individual or a team that has gone the extra mile to help others, excelled in their sport or has contributed thanklessly to their community, then please nominate them so they have a chance to receive the recognition they deserve.”

Nomination forms are available to download by visiting www.malvernhills.gov.uk/sports-awards.

Deadline for nominations is Friday, May 26.
