STUDENTS from a Malvern school have won the once-in-a-lifetime trip to the London headquarters of technology giant Google after winning a science competition.

Chase School pupils Jake Walker, Joe Charrot, Adam Charrot, Will Scragill, Oscar Hoyle and Joshua Nixon were named as one of the winning teams at the national computing challenge Raspberry Pioneers/Make It Outdoors.

After blowing away the judges, the boys have won an all-expenses paid trip to the Raspberry Pioneers Summer Camp, a unique event held at Google’s King’s Cross head office.

John Palmer, faculty leader for computing and business at The Chase, said: ”I am delighted at the success of our students in this competition.

“They have worked so hard and it is thoroughly deserved.

“It is also vital that we encourage both creative entrepreneurial spirit and computer science because the creation of small to medium technology companies could well provide the key to the UK’s future economic prosperity.”
