THE FRIENDS of Great Malvern Priory are hosting their very first heritage and faith lecture later this month.
Entitled the ‘Power and Praise in Glass’, the lecture, which will take place on Saturday, September 23 in the priory at 6.30pm, is based on the Magnificat window in the north transcept of the church.
The window was given to the Priory in 1501/02 by Henry VI and depicts scenes from Mary’s life and contains the words from Luke’s gospel where she praises God.
Lecturer Katherine Wells has made a study of the Priory stained glass and has wrote a book on the subject.
