Pet-friendly Malvern taxi firm celebrates first birthday

Malvern Editorial 17th Jan, 2018   0

A PET-FRIENDLY Malvern cab firm has celebrated its first birthday.

Noah’s Ark Pet Taxi service, started by Stephen Clutterbuck last January, is aimed at pet owners who do not have cars and those who have new cars and do not want to transport pets in them.

Stephen drops animals off for owners going on holiday and when he takes pets to the vets or groomers on the owners’ behalf, he waits with them and then brings them back.

Any necessary conversations between owners and vets can then be undertaken on the phone.

Stephen told the Observer it all started when he and a friend found an injured hedgehog and took it to the vets.

On the way there they were talking about transportation for pets and how difficult it would be. Further research showed Stephen that a lot of taxi firms did not take animals.

Stephen said the business, with his customised car, had gone from strength to strength.

He has dog cages in the boot, a dog hammock in the back of the car and even keeps a spare carrier on board for when it is needed.

As well as the transporting, Noah’s Ark also offers a dog-walking and pet-sitting service.

Stephen said: “Pets have always seemed to like me and I like them.

“I used to take my friends’ dogs for a walk all the time and we always got on fine.”

Stephen is hoping to extend the area he operates in.
