A MALVERN care home baked up a storm for a national dementia charity fund-raiser.
Hastings Residential Care Home, on Barnards Green Road, threw open its doors and welcomed people from the community to enjoy hot drinks and sweat treats for the Alzheimer’s Society’s annual cupcake day.
The event raised £55 for the charity which strives to create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted as well as being able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Sue Milward, Hastings’ care home manager, said: “We are so thankful to everyone who joined us to raise money for a cause which is so close to all of our hearts.
“Our residents love welcoming people from our local community into our home, especially when it involves tea and good cake.”
The Alzheimer’s Society’s cupcake day has raised £1.4million since 2016.
