Police appeal after serious crash in Malvern leaves motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries

A MAN suffered life-threatening injuries following a serious crash in Malvern.

Police were called to the A438 between Sledge Green and Hollybush at about 5.30pm on Tuesday to reports of a collision between a red Land Rover Defender and a blue Yamaha motorbike.

An ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were initially sent. An ambulance from South Western Ambulance Service also attended.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.




A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival ambulance staff found a motorcycle that was badly damaged.

“The fuel tank had split after the collision with the side of the 4×4 vehicle.


“After an initial assessment of the patient, the crews requested a doctor be sent to the scene so the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford was also dispatched.

“The rider, who is in his 40s, had suffered multiple injuries.

“He had a splint applied, was immobilised and given pain relief before being airlifted to the major trauma centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.”
