Malvern Cube closed after electrical fault causes fire

Malvern Editorial 1st Aug, 2018   0

CHIEFS at Malvern Cube hope to re-open the community centre tomorrow (Thursday) following a fire this morning (Wednesday).

Firefighters attended the centre on Albert Road North at about 5.30am to deal with a fire in the green room at the back of the main theatre.

The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault and not suspicious in any way.

Despite it being a server fire, The Cube hopes to be back open tomorrow.

Malvern Cube manager Jon White said: “The damage will take a while to rectify and we hope that there will be as little disruption as possible.

“It is upsetting to see such devastation to part of the centre but I know with the support from the community we will be able to rebuild and move on.

“The cafe will be closed today and all groups have been notified that we are not open.”
