Kempsey edge closer to the drop after losing to league leaders

ROCK-BOTTOM Kempsey look destined for an immediate return to Division Three following their three-wicket defeat to Worcestershire County League Division Two title hopefuls Oldswinford & Stourbridge Social.

Kempsey were put into bat after losing the toss with only James Padden (27), Mohammed Farooq (25) and Kris Baker (17) reaching double figures as the hosts were bowled out for 145 in the 45th over.

Thomas Blunt (4-27) and Alfie Mayall (3-26) were pick of the bowlers for Oldswinford who steadily reached 146-7 in their reply to claim victory.

Kempsey, who sit 75 points adrift of safety with four games to go, make the trip to Bartestree & Lugwardine on Saturday.
