MALVERN’s MP Harriett Baldwin hopes a Worcestershire retailer will scoop the honours in a national search for Britain’s best small shop.
The MP has backed a competition run by the Association of Convenience Stores which will shortlist 25 small stores to attend a national final held at the House of Commons.
“There are lots of little stores across West Worcestershire which seem to me to be ideal candidates to be awarded the ‘best shop in Britain’ and I hope that some of them will take the time to have a look at this award and have a go,” she said.
“Small independent retailers are helping to keep our high streets alive and I am delighted to help to spread the word and hope that we have a winner in West Worcestershire.”
Any small retailer can enter and a panel of experts will choose one winner to be announced in November.
