BARNARDS Green finished their Birmingham League Division One campaign in seventh after suffering a narrow four-run defeat to promoted Shifnal.
Shropshire skipper Steve Leach (75) led the way for Shifnal and his county colleague Ross Aucott hit 44 to see hosts to 243-8 after being inserted into bat.
Mahaaz Ahmed took 3-43 for Green who were dismissed for 239 in reply.
Ryan Tongue (60) and Ahmed (50) batted well early on for the visitors but 4-48 from Alex Riley pegged them back.
Ashlea Brewer (32) then threatened to spoil Shifnal’s day but he was last man out with an over to spare.
