Volunteers help transform Grove Primary School's garden area

Malvern Editorial 2nd Oct, 2018   0

GREEN-FINGERED volunteers have transformed a Malvern school’s garden area as part of a project organised by Fortis Living.

The team of volunteers from Travis Perkins, Speller Metcalfe and J A Burke overhauled the garden area at Grove Primary School and put in new raised flower beds, a new shed and a bench made from recycled materials.

To mark the completion of the project Fortis Living hosted a Community Project Day at the school last Friday.

Students sold cakes on the day with all money raised going to Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Headteacher Lizzie Guest said: “The children and staff cannot thank Fortis Living enough for regenerating this area of our school.

“We would also like to thank Travis Perkins, Speller Metcalfe and J A Burke who kindly volunteered their time to transform our garden.

“We are incredibly lucky to have such a beautiful outdoor space here at Grove Primary.

“Our dedicated gardening club will now be able to get on with their planting and growing at lunchtimes.”
