Malvern Editorial 26th Oct, 2018   0

THE CHASE School continues to celebrate its GCSE achievements following the publication of the Department for Education’s Provisional School Performance tables.

Topping the table for local schools, The Chase had 53 per cent of its students achieve at least a grade 5 in both English and Mathematics along with the highest Attainment 8 score (51.0) which is based on how well pupils have performed in up to eight qualifications.

This year’s results also show The Chase’s Progress 8 score at 0.13.

The Progress 8 score is the Government’s new way of measuring how well students make progress with a score of 0 being the national average.

Headteacher Mike Fieldhouse said: “I am delighted to see the improvement in attainment across the curriculum and wish to congratulate all our students and staff on their achievements.

“It is very encouraging to see The Chase is now performing so well compared to schools across Worcestershire.

“We are proud to see how the school has adapted to the new GCSE curriculum over recent years and see that our students progress is continuing to rise.”
