Tech firm Payara given apprentice helping hand by Malvern Hills District Council

TECHNOLOGY firm Payara Services Ltd has received support and funding from Malvern Hills District Council to help it run its apprenticeship programme, writes Natalie Hanson.

The programme will give chosen candidates experience in all aspects of the business within an international team of 27.

Christine Butler of Malvern Hills District Council said it chose Payara because it ticked all the boxes for what it looked for in a trainer and the company’s energy and approach to the apprentices would provide them with excellent training and support.

The council provides £1,000 funding for two apprentices per company and apprentices need to live locally to qualify for funding.

Cuba Stanley and Alan Roth are two students previously from Hereford Sixth-Form who are enrolled on the Digital and Technology Solution Degree Apprenticeship at Aston University and have just completed their first year of Payara’s programme.

Cuba said: “The valuable experience I’ve gained has determined this is the right career for me.”

Alan said: “If you enjoy it, it’s so rewarding, but you have to be dedicated.”

Apprenticeships are becoming more popular as they allow students to make money whilst studying and reduce the amount of student debts.

HR Manager at Payara Julia Millige said the support given to them by the council had validated their training programme and given them two fantastic and talented young men.
