CROPTHORNE racer James Calado finished seventh in the ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge.
It was a satisfying overall end position for Panasonic Jaguar Racing Formula E driver Calado in the inaugural esports event in aid of UNICEF.
The eight-race online series came to its conclusion on Sunday when Mercedes-Benz EQ’s Stoffel Vandoorne won the overall competition. Calado finished sixth in the final race.
The ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge featured two separate grids running in parallel – one comprised of drivers from the ABB FIA Formula E Championship and the challenge grid filled by some of the fastest gamers and influencers.
The online events used a Race Royale format specific to gaming in which the last-placed driver at the end of each lap is eliminated.
