AN AUTHOR has written an Advent book featuring 25 short reflections for people between December 1 and Christmas Day.
Sarah Tummey, from Malvern, first came up with the idea for ‘Christmas: God’s Promise Kept’ in 2018 when she attended church for an Advent service.
She said: “There was no sermon – just songs and readings, all connected with light.
“One of the readings was Numbers 24:17 – an obscure Bible-verse, and behind me, I heard someone whisper ‘I don’t understand’.
“I wasn’t surprised, because no one had connected it with Jesus’ birth or the season we were in.
“I have a real love of the Bible and if people have questions or I hear someone say they don’t understand, I enjoy thinking about how to answer them.”
Sarah has written a blog for almost 10 years where she has covered some of those questions.
“Finally having this book published is the best 40th birthday present I could have asked for.
“I’d love to have people reading it this Advent.”
