CREATIVE pupils from Grove Primary School and Nursery showed they had the write stuff when they won prizes in the Malvern Civic Society’s literary competition.
The children were tasked with penning a 300-word piece about either an animal, bird, insect, tree, plant or flower found in the Malvern area.
Cody Loughran, 10, was the ‘Primary Schools Winner’ and Jake Whitmore, also 10, was ‘highly commended’.
Year six teacher Lauren Adams said: “This year was the first year that we entered the Malvern Civic Society’s Literary Competition.
“As the year six pupils are in ‘Oak Class’, the group decided to research and write about Oak trees to commemorate their time in school and signify this is their final year.
“We are incredibly proud of the hard work that the children put in to create their competition entries and we are glad that their hard work has been recognised.”
Although a proper ceremony could not take place this year because of Covid restrictions, both received certificates and vouchers as prizes.
