Malvern Joggers host successful 10k at Welland and Castlemorton

THE MALVERN Joggers hosted a very successful 10k race across Welland and Castlemorton commons on Wednesday.

The event attracted a sell out 300 competitors from local running clubs with Worcester’s Black Pears, Pershore’s Plums and Ledbury’s Harriers all well represented.

The event started from Little Malvern Priory and was held with Covid-safe measures in place.




The race started at the foothills of The Malverns by the picturesque Little Malvern Priory then headed out to Castlemorton Common before circling around The Gullet quarry and looping back to the finish line at The Priory.


The overall winner was Daniel Geisler from Worcester AC in an impressive 37mins and 26secs, second place went to Matt James (Hereford Couriers) 39mins, 14secs, third place was taken by Ross Cowley (Pershore Plums) 39mins, 37secs and fourth was David Bannister (Ledbury Harriers) with a time of 40mins, 2secs.

The first woman over the line was Gemma Collier (Gloucester AC) in a taime of 42mins, 46secs. Malvern Joggers’ Nikki Juniper was second with 43mins and 41secs.

The first Malvern Jogger home was Neil Warne in 43mins and 30secs, third was MJ’s Simon Richardson 44mins, 24secs.

Other MJ age category winners times included first in the V60 for Paul Milson 47mins and 43secs and Pat Johnson who was first in the F65 – 1hr, 3mins, 4secs.
