THE PLANS for Tenbury Wells new flood defences will go on display at the Regal Theatre between November 23 and 30, enabling people to find out more about the proposals and have their say on them.
The feedback will be incorporated into a formal plan which will be considered by Malvern Hills District Council early next year with work due to start on the scheme in the spring.
West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin welcomed the news from the Environment Agency which is running the consultation.
She said she was pleased the plans were due to be made public and urged people to have their say.
“I’ve seen some early drafts of the proposals and the scheme appears to be making good progress but it is really important local people study these plans in detail and share their views.
“This is a major construction project with a series of bunds, walls and gates and there are bound to be areas of debate as the plans are fine-tuned.
“I look forward to hearing the local feedback as we move towards delivering permanent protection for a town that has been blighted by major flood events so many times in living memory.”
