Croome Court visitors urged to take part in National Trust's #BlossomWatch

Malvern Editorial 12th Apr, 2022   0

THE NATIONAL Trust is celebrating the season of trees and hedgerows blooming by inviting people to take part in #BlossomWatch at its venues, including Croome Court.

The trust recommends Croome for its ‘stunning views over the Malverns, the orchard is home to apple, pear and plum trees with a sweeping display of blossom on each one’.

The grounds also contain shrubberies featuring some exquisite blossoming plants such as the laurel, hawthorn, privet and the citrus in the Temple Greenhouse.

The annual campaign encourages people across the UK to celebrate spring blossom to create a similar cultural event to Japan’s ‘hanami’, or flower viewing.

Blossom hammocks, painting workshops and other activities are taking place as part of the celebration.

People are also encouraged to share their blossom images on social media using the #Blossomwatch.

To support future blooms, the conservation charity has vowed to ensure four million of the 20million UK trees it has committed to plant by 2030 will be blossoming species.
