75 bikes marked with SmartWater by police at the Malvern Classic MTB Festival

Malvern Editorial 29th Aug, 2022   0

AROUND 75 Malvern cyclists will now have their bikes better protected, thanks to the local police Safer Neighbourhood Team.

Officers from the SNT were at the Malvern Classic MTB Festival over the weekend, engaging with the public.

The riders had their bikes marked with SmartWater for free – it will deter thieves from taking the bikes and – if they are stolen and recovered – will ensure they go back to their rightful owners.

Because of the unique DNA-style code each SmartWater batch has, it has also even convicted thieves before because it can link them directly to the items they had stolen.

SmartWater distribution in West Mercia is part of the ‘We Don’t Buy Crime’ scheme. Click here for more.
