Schools and community groups urged to get creative for Croome's coronation bunting project

SCHOOLS and community groups are being urged to get creative for Croome’s bunting project ahead of the coronation.

Bosses at the National Trust property have urged people to make some decorative mini-flags in a way they show King Charles’ passion for the natural world, traditional crafts and the environment.

They are hoping the bunting will highlight the new monarch’s commitment to climate activism and to express their own feelings on the subject.

The creative will be exhibited as part of a large collaborative artwork at the House at Croome over the coronation weekend beginning on May 6.

The project has been inspired by Sarah P Corbett’s award-winning Craftivist Collective.

Sarah is a pioneer of the craftivist movement which focuses on using crafts to achieve political or social change.

Schools and community groups wishing to take part can request a piece of plain bunting to use for their creation before submitting their efforts to Croome by April 30.

A craft drop-in day will also be held at Croome between 10am and 4pm on April 22, giving people a chance to design their own bunting for the project.

The drop-in session is free but the usual Croome admission applies.
