TWO millenniums of history will be on display later this year when the Worcestershire Living History Show comes to Upton Upon Severn.

The family friendly show takes place on September 16 from 10am to 5pm and September 17 from 10am to 4pm at Fish Meadow in Upton, where the Battle of Upton took place during the English Civil War in 1651.

During the weekend of historical re-enactments, visitors will relive the accounts of Romans, Medievals, the English Civil Wars, the Napoleonic era, the American Civil Wars and both the First and Second World Wars.

The show, created by Worcester Re-enactors, is supported by Malvern Hills District Council (MHDC) thanks to a £1,000 cash boost from the council’s Festival Development Fund.

A variety of food and drink refreshments will be on offer at the show, along with a beer tent and market stalls.

Councillor Beverley Nielsen, portfolio holder for economic development and tourism at MHDC said: “This should be a spectacular and educational event for those interested in our extraordinary history.

“It’s lovely to see such a fun, exciting and colourful festival coming to the district.

“It’s a real boost for tourism, a great chance for a day out for local families and a great opportunity for local businesses.”

Tickets cost £10 for adults, £5 for children aged 5 to 16, and children under 5 are free.
