MALVERN Police have been engaging with the community to offer rural crime prevention advice as part of a national week of action.
Officers from south Worcestershire met with MSM Ltd, a plant machinery supplier, during their visit to the Malvern Autumn Show as part of the National Rural Crime Week of Action.
PC Steve Chance, and rural and business officer (RABO), Mick Simpson gave advice about crime prevention and use of data tags and other methods to prevent and identify stolen machinery at the event.
Officers also visited rural schools in Malvern, Clifton, and Martley to discuss and issue Smartwater property marking systems, with the aims of reducing rural crime and preventing certain locations from being targeted.
They also attended rural churches to look at heritage crime, issuing Smartwater and offering crime prevention advice to priests.
Investigations into fly tipping incidents in Spetchley, Worcester were also carried out following on from a force wide effort with partners at Worcestershire Trading Standards and tyre firms to ensure they are correctly disposed of.
