A MULTI-AGENCY operation to catch rogue traders in Malvern parishes has been carried out in response to an increase in reports of the crimes throughout the year.
Malvern, Upton and Kempsey Safer Neighbourhood Teams were joined by Worcestershire Trading Standards and Malvern Hills District Council across many of the regions villages in a bid to tackle the perpetrators.
Malvern, Powick, Rushwick and Kempsey were targeted during the operation on Tuesday, September 26 after various reports of cold callers and rogue traders in these areas.
The operation engaged with legitimate traders and residents in the area who have fallen victim to the criminality.
Genuine businesses appreciated the work being done to help protect their legitimate trading and residents were offered advice in avoiding the crime.
Traders who were stopped had their relevant licenses and documentations checked to ensure their legitimacy.
No instances of rogue trading were reportedly intercepted during the operation.
