A LARGE quantity of illegal tobacco was seized from a shop in Malvern Link yesterday.
Officers from Malvern Police Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) and officers from Worcestershire Trading Standards carried out the operation.
The tobacco was found concealed in a wall after it was sniffed out by expert detection dogs from B.W.Y Canine Ltd which was also enlisted for the raids.
Insp Dave Wise from West Mercia Police said: “Illegal tobacco risks health with no quality control, robs public funds through tax evasion, supports criminal networks, hurts legitimate businesses, and increases access to children.
“I’m really pleased with the ongoing partnership work in our area to crackdown on illegal traders.”
