A BIKE which was stolen from Malvern was recovered within the hour after police apprehended the thief.
PC Paul Slaymaker was on patrol in the town when he was informed of the theft from the back of the shops.
He viewed the CCTV and immediately recognised the suspect.
He and PC David Olczak then carried out inquiries to try and locate the suspect. After several address checks, they located the suspect and the bike.
The officers said: “The bike thief admitted the offence in interview and was reported for the theft. He will have his day in court.”
The bike was then returned to the rightful owner within three hours of it being taken.
The officers added: “He was very pleased to get it back as he used it as his mode of transport to work and back every day.”
