MALVERN’S ‘queen of the trails’ Harriet Harnden has continued her successful mountain biking season with another competition win.

Harriet Harnden secured top spot at the UCI World Cup Enduro (EDR) Series on September 6 in Loudenvielle, France.

This latest title officially establishes her as the world’s best professional female enduro athlete at just 23-years-old.

The four stage race saw Harnden win the 1st stage, with a 2nd place finish in stage four. The overall winner is the rider with the most points across the staged races over the duration of the season and the final race to the top was tight.

With just 63 points between Harnden and 2023 Overall Winner Isabeau Courdurier, Harnden eventually took the overall series win by 21 points.

Hailing from Malvern, Harnden has been making headlines since 2015 when she was crowned Cross Country National Champion at the age of 14.

Harnden’s dominant performance capped off an incredible season where she’s already been crowned National EDR Champion and National Downhill Champion alongside three additional race wins and four podiums.

Her extraordinary talent has cemented her as one of the best female athletes in the sport, boasting an astounding 78 career victories in her short career.

Reflecting on her achievements, Harnden said: “It’s a dream come true, I feel like I worked really hard for it and I had an amazing season and didn’t drop below force.

“Even though it feels like it’s been a rollercoaster at the same time. I feel quite fulfilled, and it felt super special to stand on the podium in first place.
