ALMOST £11,000 worth of illegal vapes and tobacco have been seized from shops in Malvern.

PC Dee Stanley, PC Jo Tredwell, PC Kev Johns and PC Dave Olczak from Malvern Police Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out a joint operation with Worcestershire Trading Standards targeting Vape shops in the town on Wednesday.

Insp Dave Wise, of Malvern and Wychavon Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The sale of illegal vapes and tobacco is often linked to organised crime and the operation on Wednesday will both be disruptive to these gangs but also it will stop the sale of them to children and adults.

“We attended these two premises following intelligence received from members of our community who do not want criminal activity in our town.

“I continue to ask people to share any information or concerns they have to the police.”

Malvern Police said Worcestershire Trading Standards would be working with Malvern Hills District Council to prosecute the traders.

And they warned more raids were being planned to combat future breaches.

Anyone who suspects illegal vapes, tobacco or other items is urged to report it at westmercia.police.uk or, alternatively, visit: crimestoppers-uk.org or call 0800 555 111.
