Malvern Editorial 2nd Oct, 2024   0

MORE THAN 75,000 people descended on the Three Counties Showground last weekend for this year’s Malvern Autumn Show.

The 28th annual event (September 27-29) included many spoils from this year’s harvest, including giant vegetables, the RHS Flower Show, and local produce as well as plenty of food and drink stalls.

The CANNA UK Giant Vegetables Championship wows the crowds every year with this Autumn’s highlight being a one tonne pumpkin. Other awards were given for longest runner beans, biggest chilli peppers, and the heaviest cantaloupe melon.

Visitors enjoyed the Great Malvern Cake Off, new for this year’s show, which saw previous contestants and winners from The Great British Bake Off join host Chris Bavin for all things baking.

Hosting the Garden Theatre was BBC Radio Two and Escape to the Country presenter, Nicki Chapman while broadcaster and writer, Martin Fish returned to host the Potting Shed theatre.

Furry friends showcased during the Dog Show and the World of Animals kept visitors entertained all weekend long.

Children were up close and personal with ponies, pygmy goats, sheep and some less furry friends including reptiles, birds, and mammals at the ever popular Exotic Animals area.

Next year’s show returns from Friday, September 26 to Sunday, September 28.
