PEOPLE across the Malvern Hills district will soon fall silent to remember those who lost their lives in the two World Wars and other conflicts.
In the week leading up to Remembrance Sunday and over the weekend, Malvern, Tenbury Wells, and Upton-upon-Severn will all honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Malvern
Parades and services will take place in the town centre and in villages across the district to pay tribute.
On Thursday, November 7 there will be an opening ceremony of the Field of Remembrance (10.40am), with arrival from 10.30am.
On Remembrance Sunday (November 10), there will be a service at Great Malvern Priory Church (10am) before the parade starts outside Great Malvern Post Office approximately 10.40am.
And on Sunday, November 10 the RBL will join local authority and religious leaders for a Remembrance Sunday service, again at the War Memorial in Victoria Square. Both services are timed for 11am.
On Monday, November 11 there is an Armistice Day service from 10.40am at Great Malvern Priory.
Tenbury Wells
A parade will march from Tesco to St Mary’s Church from 10.15am. At 10.25am there will be a wreath laying ceremony, ahead of a church service at 10.50am and a concluding parade in the opposite direction from 11.50am.
Upton-upon-Severn
In Upton, there will be a Remembrance Sunday parade setting off from New Street on its journey to the Parish Church from 10.20am. After the service, the parade will head back to the War Memorial (at approximately 11.45am) for the wreath laying.
