MALVERN Town secured back-to-back wins for the first time since October following an impressive 3-0 victory at play-off chasing Melksham Town.

Goals from Alex Bell, Jack Watts and Sam Clark sealed a fine win for the Hillsiders at Oakfield Stadium after Melksham had a first-half penalty saved.

The result means Malvern sit 11th in the Southern League Division One South table, seven points outside of the play-off places.

Melksham won a penalty just past the quarter-hour mark for a foul on Ralph Graham only for Josh Bishop to superbly keep out Jake Andrews’ spot kick diving low to his left.

And the Hillsiders made the most of that reprieve to break the deadlock on 50 minutes as Bell finished at the second attempt.

Bishop then made another excellent stop to prevent Melksham from scoring an equaliser at a corner.

Malvern doubled their lead on 70 minutes when the ball dropped to Watts in the box and the striker coolly found the bottom corner.

And the Hillsiders sealed the points in injury time as Clark found the net to earn the visitors a first away win since October.

Malvern are next in action against Yate Town on Saturday, January 25 with kick-off at 3pm at Lodge Road.
