MALVERN Town conceded two late goals to draw 2-2 at Falmouth Town as the club’s six-game winning run came to an end.

The Hillsiders looked set to extend their fine run thanks to goals from Sam Clark and Luke Payne at Bickland Park.

However, Luke Barner reduced the deficit late on before Andreas Calleja-Stayne equalised for the home side in injury time.

And the result lifts Malvern up to fifth in the Southern League Division One South table, inside the play-off places on goal difference.

The Hillsiders broke the deadlock three minutes after half time when Clark headed in a corner from the right at the near post.

And Malvern doubled their lead on 81 minutes as Payne drove into the penalty area and his low cross deflect into the net off a Falmouth defender.

However, Falmouth halved the deficit moments later when Barner tapped home at the back post.

And the home side snatched a point at the death as Calleja-Stayne volleyed the ball into the bottom right corner.

Malvern are next in action against Larkhall Athletic on Saturday, March 29 with kick-off at 3pm at Plain Ham.
