WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Dame Harriett Baldwin welcomed legendary car maker Morgan Motors to an event in London to celebrate small-scale car manufacturers.
The Malvern-made Morgan Supersport lined up alongside cars from manufacturer including Aston Martin, Bentley, Lotus and McLaren as part of an effort to promote some of the country’s most successful car brands.
Morgan Motors’ chief commercial officer Gary Pearson met with Dame Harriett to talk about the Malvern company’s plans to compete on the global stage and update her on dealing with the challenges deal of US trade tariffs.
Dame Harriett said: “It was great to see a Malvern-built car lining up alongside some of the greatest cars in the world to promote the very best of British manufacturing.
“Morgan’s historic cars are hand-built by local people at a factory in the heart of Malvern and it has been a proud champion of the town.
“I am pleased to see the Government recognising the importance of small-scale car manufacturers and hope it will assist them, particularly as they all have to navigate the current regime of US trade tariffs.
“I will continue to speak up for Morgan Motors and its highly-valued network of local suppliers as it competes on the world stage and puts Malvern in the global spotlight.”
