MEMBERS of the farming community across Malvern are being invited to learn about brewing and farming history at a free event next month.
The Farming Community Harvest Tea will be held from 2.30pm to 5.30pm on Friday, October 3 at Stocks Farm and The Hop Shed, Suckley.
Hosted by Ali Capper, of Stocks Farm, and Sarah Saleh, Founder and Manager of The Hop Shed the event will be an opportunity to learn more about the farming development journey and relationship to the award-winning brewery on site.
The event will begin by gathering at The Hop Shed, the ‘Brewery on a Hop Farm’ where Sarah will introduce the development of the brewery and tap room, as well as providing a sample of the beer brewed on site.
After this, Ali will discuss the history of the 200-year-old Stocks Farm and take visitors on a farm walk of the award-winning hop and apple orchards on site.
The day will end with a complimentary Harvest Tea back at The Hop Shed and the opportunity to purchase drinks from the bar. For those who wish to stay on after the event has finished the bar will be open to the public.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to socialise with peers across the industry.
This event is the third of its kind and follows on from the successful farming community breakfasts held at Clive’s Fruit Farm and Top Barn Farm Shop and Farm Park earlier this year.
They aim to celebrate the wonderful agricultural assets within the Malvern Hills District.

“They have been fully booked and provide a wonderful and positive opportunity for the farming community to come together, to socialise and learn about the inspiring farming development journeys of our hosts.”
After the event, Linda follows up with hosts and attendees to find out what support she can provide to the development of resident-led farming community activity in the district.
