CHRISTMAS is coming to Great Malvern this November with the annual lights switch on tomorrow.
The annual Great Malvern Christmas Lights Switch On aims to raise money for multiple Malvern charities including Malvern Welcomes Refugees, ARCOS, Malvern Community Forest and Legacy Moto.
The theme for the day is winter wonderland, and there will be a variety of family fun across the town and local trader markets at Belle Vue Terrace.
Great Malvern Library will also become a hub for a gift market, workshops and Father Christmas’s annual visit to his grotto.
The Coach House Theatre will see a festive Christmas show running throughout the day at 11am and 2pm.
Malvern Theatres will be running a selection of Jack and the Beanstalk activities from 10am until 3pm.
Live entertainment will be taking place all afternoon on the BBC Hereford and Worcester Stage on Belle Vue Island and outside Great Malvern Library.
Mayor of Malvern, Marilyn Birks said: “We are thrilled to be bringing the festive magic back to Malvern this year with the Christmas Lights Switch On.
“There will be plenty of fun and activities for all the family to get involved in throughout the day.”
The excitement builds until 5:30pm, when the pantomime celebrities Tom Lister and Mark James will be switching on the Christmas lights from Belle Vue Island following the parade up Church Street.
This will then be followed by the Malvern Link Christmas Lights Switch On, taking place on November 28 with the turning on of the lights at 6pm.
