MALVERN Town saw their four-game winning run come to an end following a heavy 4-1 defeat away at Bristol Manor Farm.

Bristol ripped up the form book at The Creek as a late goal from Harry Clark proved merely a consolation for the Hillsiders.

And the result means Malvern sit fifth in the Southern League Division One South table, six points behind leaders Portishead Town.

The hosts broke the deadlock on 15 minutes when Bailey Croome swept home Ryan Cainey’s cutback from the left.

And Bristol doubled their lead on 27 minutes as Aysa Corrick finished Croome’s cutback following a counter attack.

The home side extended their lead on 61 minutes when Cainey headed home Thomas Symons’ cross at the back post after the ball looped over Josh Bishop in the Malvern net.

And Bristol struck again five minutes from time as Malcolm Nicholls finished another Symons cross from close range.

The Hillsiders grabbed a consolation goal deep into injury time when Clark slid in at the back post to meet Luke Salter’s cross.

Malvern are next in action against Larkhall Athletic on Tuesday, November 25 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the HDAnywhere Community Stadium.
