Malvern church invites new singers to join its main choir

A CHURCH in Malvern is inviting new singers to join its main church choir.

Holy Trinity Church is holding an open rehearsal on Friday January 30 from 7.30pm until 9.00pm to welcome new singers.

Music has long been at the heart of Holy Trinity’s worship. The church is historically associated with Sir Edward Elgar who is known to have played the organ whilst practising his Organ Sonata.

This rich musical tradition continues today with this well-established choir.

The Choir is currently recruiting all adult voices to attend rehearsals on Friday evenings and sing at Sunday morning services – ideally singers would be available to sing at least two Sundays per month, but there is flexibility.

All singers are welcome, although some previous choral experience is desirable.

Charles Pavey, organist and choirmaster said: “The choir is a wonderful mix of experienced singers who lead those who might describe themselves as novices.”

The open rehearsal offers an informal opportunity to meet the Choir, experience a rehearsal and have an enjoyable sing.

There is no need to register in advance, singers are invited to simply come along.

Those who are unable to attend the open rehearsal on Friday January 30 are very welcome to join any regular Friday rehearsal.
