A GROUP of ‘inspirational’ young carers clinched two golds and a silver after their annual conference touched the hearts of judges.
YSS Worcestershire Young Carers held their conference in April which was attended by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, who is a patron of the charity.
This resulted in being invited to EVCOM Clarion Awards 2015 on Wednesday, September 30 in London where they picked up three awards.
They included golds for Brand Communication Experience live event and Educational/Training Live event and then gaining silver in the Conference Live Events category. The youngsters worked alongside firm drp to create films for the event.
Comments from the judges said the event ‘really touched their hearts’ and brought home what an inspiring group of people the young carers are.
Ann Constable attended the awards on behalf of the YSS and was thrilled with success achieved for the event.
She added: “We are extremely grateful to drp for supporting our charity, and very generously giving a huge amount of time and expertise to the conference preparations.
“I am delighted that they have gained national recognition, among their peers, for their exceptional work.
“The films were definitely among the conference highlights, and have given us a lasting legacy too.”
Katie Farr, project manager at drp, which also played a key role in the execution of the event, added: “Although the event is over, it’s left such a lasting impression on all of us at drp who worked on the project.
“The young carers are an inspiration to us all and winning these awards really is and should be dedicated to them, especially for all the hard work and challenges they have to face on a day to day basis.”
