Charities in Worcestershire benefit from Severn Trent’s £1million Covid Emergency Fund

CHARITIES and not-for-profit groups across Worcestershire are among 300 good causes to benefit from Severn Trent’s £1million Covid Emergency Fund.

The pot of cash was created to help groups supporting communities on the front line throughout the pandemic and the Recovery Fund has also been providing support to organisations feeling financial strain because of Coronavirus.

Across Worcestershire, £87,000 was contributed to 26 charities and organisations.

Blackwell Adventure received £10,000, while NewStarts, Droitwich CVS, Age UK Worcestershire and South Worcestershire Citizens Advice Bureau was handed £5,000 each.




Awards of £2,000 each went to the Bromsgrove and Redditch Network, Ahead of Wellbeing CIC, Young Solutions and the Worcestershire Association of Carers.

Liv Garfield, Severn Trent CEO said: “We knew when the virus hit and we all went into lockdown that our communities would need help, which is why we created our emergency fund.


“We were conscious, though, that not everyone would need help right away, which is why we held back £500,000 to support non-profit organisations which have struggled through the pandemic to get back on their feet.”
